Meet Valerie Gilbert

Valerie is a LLMSW who earned her Bachelors in Social Work from Eastern Michigan University in 2025 and her Masters from Wayne State University in 2026.

During both of her internships, she worked with children and families in the school setting providing tools for them to build on their social, emotional, and behavioral needs. She developed a passion for encompassing art as a form of expression and healthy coping strategies with children. 

Valerie’s work focuses on a strength-based approach, in order to support clients with their goals and a growth-mindset. She also utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to build on the skills of clients of all demographics. She wishes to provide and create a positive space to grow, learn, and work through life’s challenges. 

During her free time, Valerie enjoys crafting such as scrapbooking. She also enjoys spending time outside, kayaking, playing pickleball, and other activities in nature.
